• Existing standpipes (21) supply 100-200 gallons per minute from a 38,000 gallon water tower, water is resupplied via 2 underwater lines from North Saanich, BC.
• Piers Island has 2 easily accessible pond reservoirs with a total capacity of 1 million gallons of water
• over 50 properties have docks to supply sea water via portable pumps

- 2 Hale 18 hp Hi-lift portable pumps capable of delivering unlimited sea water to the fire scene
- 2 forestry pumps installed at the reservoirs during high season June to September
-1 Hale floating pumps, 3 Wateraxe pumps
- 4 WD Tractor with trailer with forestry firefighting supplies
- Trailer with Sprinkler protection equipment including forestry hose, GHT, sprinklers and pumpkin tanks

Replacement Strategies
PIID continues to replace equipment with like, kind when budgeted monies become available and the need or opportunity arises. All equipment is regularly serviced by licensed mechanics and is fully functioning.
