Power Outage

Report power outage to B.C. Hydro:  1- 888-769-3766
If the power outage is during a severe weather event

• Do not go outside to investigate the cause. Someone from the fire department will go out and around the island to investigate and assess the situation. 

If you see something that requires emergency assistance

• Call 911

If you have heard or seen something from your home that would help in identifying cause or what needs to be fixed

• Please report it to the fire department ([email protected]) or post it on Slack

If there are fallen power lines

• Stay 10 meters away
• Do not cross over

If the fire department identifies any issues that:

• Requires an emergency response, the applicable emergency procedures will be initiated
• Requires communications to islanders, the emergency program will be notified and communications will go out via email, Slack
